Classical music streaming sites

Several orchestras and opera houses offer free online video streaming of selected items from their recorded catalogue. A wide choice of both audio and video recordings of classical music is also available free of charge from YouTube. The quality of YouTube recordings varies considerably. For a wider choice of high quality music streaming, you normally have to pay a monthly or annual subscription, such as the two recommended sites shown below.

You can watch or listen to streamed media on any device that offers an Internet browser, such as a computer, iPad, Android tablet, or any smartphone. The best option for video streaming is to use a television. Most modern TVs allow you to access Internet sources. Older TVs can do the same thing if you buy a relatively cheap small plugin device, such as Google Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV Stick, etc.
