For those who love classical music
All SRMS meetings at St Denys have now been cancelled until further notice as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Our next online meeting via Zoom will take place from 3:30 - 4:45pm on Friday, 15 January 2021, when SRMS Vice Chairman
Chris Topley will present a tribute to Beethoven to mark the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth in December 1770.
Anyone who wishes to attend this meeting should contact David Anderson as soon as possible at 023 8076 0299 or
chairman@southamptonRMS.org.uk to obtain the required Meeting ID and password.

Interested in classical music?
Want to meet like-minded people?
Then please come and join us!
Southampton Recorded Music Society, which has been running very successfully for
71 years, provides an
opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to share the enjoyment of classical music. Our regular
meetings take the form of a speaker talking about his or her chosen subject and illustrating this with CDs
(and the occasional DVD, Blu-ray and SACD) played on top quality Meridian, Oppo and KEF hi-fi equipment.
We also organise musical quiz nights and other social gatherings.
Our guest speakers all have a professional musical background. Most other presentations are given by our own members.
Typically, we present a mixture of the familiar and the unjustifiably
neglected. Look at our current programme to
see what you are missing! Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings, which are friendly and informal. They
provide an excellent way to hear the music of a wide variety of composers.
It doesn’t cost much to join the society - but be prepared for frequent
temptations to purchase more CDs for your own collection.
Don’t worry if your current knowledge of classical music is rather limited. Joining our
society will soon change that!
