For those who love classical music

Southampton Recorded Music Society, which has been running very successfully for 74 years, provides an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to share the enjoyment of classical music.

We offer a mixture of online meetings (via Zoom) and face-to-face meetings at the St Denys Church Centre. Most of them involve a speaker talking about their chosen subject and illustrating this with extracts from audio and/or video recordings.

Typically, we present a mixture of the familiar and the unjustifiably neglected. Look at our current programme to see what you are missing! Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings, which are friendly and informal. They provide an excellent way to hear the music of a wide variety of composers.

Please don’t worry if your current knowledge of classical music is rather limited. Joining our society will soon change that!
